2nd Team Captains report

Knowle and Dorridge 2nd XI hosted Moseley at Station Road on Saturday, the visitors won the toss and elected to field. Some good batting at the top of the order from John Price 71 and Nathan Roberts 66, put K and D in a strong position, however the constant loss of wickets through the vital middle to end overs meant we ended up setting Moseley 248 to win, 30 short of where we had hoped to finish. The start of Moseley’s innings was mixed with wickets but quick scoring from their top order which meant the game hung in balance. Identifying the importance of the middle overs to take the game away from Moseley we failed to capitalise on the chances created dropping 4 chances and credit to Moseley who batted well to get over the line to win by 3 wickets. Both Ben Brookes and Jordan Smith the pick of the bowlers. The boys look to bounce back away at Brockhampton this weekend with a crucial fixture to ensure we maintain our top spot in the league.
