K&D Junior Registration 2017

Knowle & Dorridge C.C juniors built on a record breaking 2016 season by collecting further winners medals in the U9’s, U15’s and U17’s competitions as well as finishing runners up in the U10’s competition.

This success was combined with record junior numbers and the most teams we have ever entered into Warwickshire competitions to offer more players competitive match opportunities.

Knowle & Dorridge C.C continue to maintain their ECB Club mark accreditation. This is a recognised governing body award which signals that Knowle & Dorridge C.C continue to maintain the highest standards in Safety and Safeguarding children.

Looking ahead to the 2017 season we are delighted to announce the following additions to the coaching programme that Knowle & Dorridge C.C will offer:

We hope that by combining our current coaching programmes with our new programmes this will offer our junior members even more opportunities to play and enjoy cricket and be part of the club.

We are delighted to welcome Amy Weir on board as head of Women’s and Girls cricket at K&D and see this as a huge step forwards in our development of girl’s cricket at K&D.

The philosophy of the Club still remains that of focusing on its home-grown talent to anchor its long term prosperity and represents a fantastic opportunity for its junior members.

We are working even harder this season to ensure that our junior players have clear pathways through junior cricket into senior cricket and hopefully to 1st team level and beyond. It was great to see so many junior cricketers represent senior sides in 2016.

Special mentions to Henry Brookes who is currently representing England U19’s in India and Isabelle Wong who became the first female cricketer to represent the K&D men’s senior teams in 2016. The opportunities are there for junior players to play senior cricket and we will be actively encouraging our juniors to be part of this.

Sam Reddish is continuing as 1st Team Club Captain, the 1st XI had a very successful season last year in the Birmingham Premier League finishing fourth and winning the Birmingham League T20 Trophy. This is one of, if not the best league, in the Country and we would encourage every junior player to come along and watch the senior teams play and see several current and ex first class and international cricketers.

We are very lucky to have Warwickshire C.C.C Professional Cricketer Atteq Javid in our ranks this season. Our overseas player for 2017 will be New Zealand international cricketer George Worker who is a top order batsman and left arm spinner. We welcome Atteq and George and look forward to a very successful season.

Fees

I reiterate that all players must have registered in time if they are to be able to play for a team. This is a Club and insurance requirement that must be adhered to. We have kept the same fee applied for the last two years at £80.

As stated before, and due to factors outside our control, a parent must be a registered member of the Club. To facilitate this, a parent will be able to join at a reduced rate of £30.00 (total with one child £110.00). Please note the parent fee is only payable once regardless of the number of children registering.

This will allow you to be a social member of the Club for the cricket season only; you will be issued with a member’s card. Please use this to help us to remain a family committed Club. If you wish your partner to be a member also, the cost is an additional £10. Please ensure you complete the social membership forms and hand in at registration.

For those of you that are already full members, we would be grateful if you could continue to do so. The cost is £60 and £10 for additional members. You are of course a member for the whole year and retain the additional benefits that come with that. The Club is very grateful for those that continue to do so and those new members that choose to take this option.

We are still one of the cheapest Clubs in the region and the quality of our coaches and facilities are second to none.

Junior Sponsorship

We would love to be able to have a number of parents sponsoring the Junior Section at Lugtrout Lane. Members of the Club do spend an enormous amount of time ensuring the ground is utilised for the juniors. The ‘Lugtrout’ Committee is headed up by Steve Smith (and he would welcome any suggestions you may have with regard to events, improving the ground etc.). He can be contacted on stevesmith888@btinternet.com

To this end we wish to put sponsorship banners around the ground for parents/sponsors to purchase. Costs for banners are £500 plus VAT which includes the cost of the banner and these will be allocated on a first come first served basis to those that wish to help the Junior Section. For those interested please contact Steve Smith or Warren Harding on warrenharding@me.

Knowle & Dorridge C.C have entered teams into Warwickshire competitions from U9’s – U19’s. We have entered 3 teams at U9’s, 2 teams at U10’s and 3 teams at U11’s. Knowle & Dorridge C.C have increased the number of teams entered in junior competitions to ensure that as many of our juniors as possible play matches for the Club. Team managers will contact parents directly regarding selection for fixtures and everyone will receive a K&D handbook with a list of fixture dates and team manager contact details.

Knowle & Dorridge C.C Clothing

Knowle & Dorridge C.C offer branded Club clothing from official clothing partners JS Sports. If you would like to order high quality SURRIDGE clothing via the online clothing store then you need to click on the link below. All queries with kit will go direct to JS Sports and delivery times are usually between 5 – 7 working days although lead times may increase the closer to the season the clothing is ordered. If you do require clothing I would recommend purchasing as soon as possible – https://www.jssports.net/clubs/knowle-and-dorridge-cc

Wet Weather Arrangements

Occasionally we may need to cancel junior training due to wet weather and unsafe conditions. We cancel these sessions to maintain the safety of the children and to avoid major injuries.

If training is cancelled then a message will be posted on the junior noticeboard. Regular updates will be made on this page throughout the day to keep everyone informed. At times this decision will not be made until 5pm to allow maximum drying time.

Please can I ask that everyone familiarises themselves with the K&D website and in particular the junior notice board as it will not be possible for me to respond to everyone’s messages and calls in the event of wet weather.

Coaching sessions will be added onto the programme in the event that we have to cancel many sessions and details will be emailed to everyone.

If for any reason you will not be registering your child for 2017 would you please take a moment to reply to this email so we are aware. Thank you.

If you have any questions in the meantime please do not hesitate to contact me on 07886 689 941 or email davo909@talk21.com

I look forward to meeting everyone at registration evening and let’s hope for a very successful and dry 2017.
